Special provisions are guidelines that have been developed for more than 125 river sections in British Columbia. These provisions outline the basic requirements that we have agreed need to be met in order to operate a safe and enjoyable trip for our guests.
The approved special provisions include every river section in BC. New rivers are proposed to industry annually and vetted by operators to ensure a consistent approach to requirements.
IMPORTANT NOTE: Some existing Special Provisions allow for single vessel operations on Class 3 and above waters. Section 16 of the new Federal Regulations will not allow this starting in 2008. These provisions should be read as not allowing single vessel operations on Class 3 and above waters until they can be adjusted formally at the 2008 AGM.
