The British Columbia River Outfitters Association

Provisions

Special provisions are guidelines that have been developed for more than 125 river sections in British Columbia. These provisions outline the basic requirements that we have agreed need to be met in order to operate a safe and enjoyable trip for our guests.

The approved special provisions include every river section in BC. New rivers are proposed to industry annually and vetted by operators to ensure a consistent approach to requirements.

The provisions are posted in PDF format:

Myth-Buster

Myth: Rafting is expensive Busted: There aren’t many guided outdoor activities that are as affordable as rafting – trips start at $30 for a half day. And the value is unmatched: excellent food, gear included, professional guides, shuttles and sometimes free photos from your adventure. Even multi-day expeditions are good value when you include the costs of charter flights and how much you save by not being able to spend a cent for two weeks.
